Currently a three piece, Turnstone’s seven year history has seen them release three CDs and play some steamy events. Postcards, the first was a parlour affair dreamt up in 2001 as a farewell, when good friend bass player John Crathchley decided to move to France. This album was well received in Poland but its fame did not spread beyond Krakow and Wroclaw. 2003’s Triangles and Squares was released on Lawrence Music. Co-produced at Bryn Derwyn by David Wrench and Alan Holmes, the distinctive recording was well received and championed by Radio Wales’ DJ Adam Walton, who also gave the group, now featuring Humphrey Davies on bass and Benno Boeckh on cello, a three song live session. A third CD, the home recorded Cool and Slow, was produced last year comprising vocalist and instrumentalist Sheila Brook, guitarist Rob Parry, bassist Roger Hughes and drummer Mark Thomas, the group has been re-making itself in the last year and is writing and recording new material.
