The World of Cool and Slow

"After a long wait, at last we have a new album from one of the best live, or otherwise, bands in Wales. Like a more sophisticated and exotic
version of the kind of thing Fairport Convention used to do, it’s always amazed me that Turnstone have never broken out of the sometimes narrow
constraints of the North Wales music scene. With a bit of luck and the wind in the right direction, ‘Cool & Slow’ may help to see the band
expand into a wider audience. The vocals are gorgeous, the songs are moving and the band is playing together, well, like a really good band.
Rather than separate people punching in parts on an anonymous PC. The minimal but effective production from John Lawrence manages to enhance
the sound but not get in the way of the songs. The addition of Benno Buerke on Cello has always given the band that extra dimension, and due
to his recent departure to the fatherland, he will be much missed at live shows and further recordings. However, as this superb album
demonstrates, Turnstone is truly a musical force to reckon with. Right on". Wil Williams
